2 years ago today I was taken to A and E after collapsing at home with a sub arachnoid haemorrhage. Your immediate treatment along with the treatment provided by the paramedics was crucial to my survival. QMC performed the operation and after care and they were wonderful too. However I wanted to leave a review for you because you are so often knocked in the media. My experience was one of efficiency, expertise and, more than that, dignity. The nurses who dealt with me were kind and gentle. I may have looked 'out of it' but I heard most of what was being said and I felt that someone cared and provided me with dignity. I felt safe as nobody panicked me with talking as if I wasn't there, ie how this could be 'curtains'! You also found many blankets for me as I remember feeling frozen, in all their busyness staff didn't complain when I kept asking for more. The staff in the CT unit were kind too and spoke respectfully about me even though I was passing in and out of consciousness. Thank you. I have had two years of wonderful life, full of experiences and family joy, especially the birth of a grandson. I thank God for you every day and wish you all the best. Norma
