"The midwives and other staff we ..."

About: Pembury Hospital

(as the patient),

What I liked

The midwives and other staff we encountered during and following the birth of our son were fantastic - professional, friendly, helpful and caring. They more than made up for the tatty, dated facilities.

What could be improved

The parking was dreadful, my husband queued for over an hour to park on the day we were discharged. Not what you need with a newborn baby. This needs to be rectified asap.

A 16 bed postnatal ward with 16 newborn babies and constant call alarms wasn't really conducive to sleep and recovery! £220 for a private room is a complete rip-off and designed to lure desperate and exhausted mums.

The equipment and facilities are in need of change but this is coming with the new hospital. The staff were fabulous and made up for the inadequate facilities.

Anything else?

Please sort out the parking, attending postnatal appointments with a tiny baby without knowing that parking will be available isn't good enough.
