"Waiting time in the ward"

I arrived at Manchester Royal Eye Hospital at 12 noon. I was informed I was with 20 patients who were booked in at the same time. I waited 4 ½ hours for my treatment. Appointments should be made every 30 minutes ie 12. 00, 12. 30, 1. 00, 1. 30, etc. Allow 5 patients at a time. The nurse confirmed she also agreed with this but to no avail.

We were very sorry to receive your comments and concerns on behalf of a patient/ service user via the NHS Choices website about your experiences at MREH in April 2015. Initially, please accept our apologies for the delayed response, but we have only recently identified that a response had not been posted.

We take all issues surrounding patient care very seriously. But, it is very difficult to respond to the specific concerns you have raised on behalf of the patient/ service user without being able to investigate in detail.

We take all issues surrounding patient experience very seriously and would very much like to hear from the patient/ service user directly as it is very difficult to respond to the specific concerns you have raised without being able to investigate in detail. To do this, we would need more information. If you can ask the patient to contact our Patient Advice and Liaison Service on 0161 276 8686 or by e-mailing pals@cmft.nhs.uk and they will be able to discuss any comments or queries you have.
