"why no Wi-Fi?"

About: St Marks Hospital

My mother aged 91 relays on her i-pad to read the newspaper, do the crossword, keep in touch with family and BBC news. She is being well cared for physically, but she has a very active mind which is not being catered for. She cannot move without help so the iPad would be a godsend! Please do allow the patients access to the internet. I was told that 'It is not policy to allow it'. This seems strange as while she was in Wexham Park before being transferred she was happily using her ipad. Get up to date at St Marks Please!

Thank you for your posting. It is pleasing to hear that your mother is being well cared for physically. I'm sorry to see that your mother has been unable to use her I Pad whilst a patient with us. She obviously finds it of great benefit. I have contacted our Head of Estates and Facilities for a response and I will add to this posting once I have it. Kind Regards, Trevor Lyalle Patient Advice & Liaison Service Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust Tel: 0118 9605027 trevor.lyalle@berkshire.nhs.uk
