"Queens orthopedic care- not even fit for a pauper!"

About: Queen's Hospital (Romford)

My daughter had surgery at 9am and 22 hours later we still had not been visited by a consultant. I think this absolutely disgusting behaviour as I have no idea what took place during surgery or what her aftercare will look like. The only information I managed to glean from her notes was that surgery was more complicated than anticipated, and the initial consultant was overwhelmed, and required another consultant to complete the surgery. I understand that by its very nature, hospital care can be somewhat organic as emergencies happen, however a twenty two hour emergency? I think not! This could only be considered inadequate and totally unacceptable. Poor maternity care at Queens? No the entire hospital is a shambles.

Thank you for sharing your comment. I am sorry to learn that your daughter was not seen to by a consultant for a long period of time after her surgery. It’s important to us that our patients are kept informed and supported, so please contact me through our PALS team on 01708 435 454 or email PALS@bhrhospitals.nhs.uk so that we can investigate this for you. Yours sincerely Nadeem Moghal Medical Director
