I was in the waiting area of the den when I recently brought my little boy to his paediatric appointment. Whilst I was waiting I overheard what appeared to be a Dad of a patient complaining quite loudly. It would appear that the staff had had to make several attempts to get blood from his young daughter and Dad was unhappy about this and was very rude and vocal. This saddened me so much. I too had brought my little boy of a similar age for blood tests the morning of Mon 9/3/15 and found the service to be wonderful. He quite clearly had no visible veins and therefore the nurses had to repeatedly try and find one. My little boy hardly made a murmur while this was going on due to the numbing gel and the gentleness of how he was handled. I had also had to bring my four year old with me who the staff were also wonderful with and made a big fuss of. We were all made to feel very comfortable and what could have been a really unpleasant situation was the exact opposite. I cannot praise the staff enough. I also think the facilities are great. My children enjoyed watching the fish on the TV and they love waiting for the dog to come and have a wee every quarter of an hour! Working for the NHS myself I am all too aware you far more often hear the negatives, so I felt compelled to write and congratulate your excellent care. Many thanks, Lindsey
