"What a brilliant service"

About: Guy's Hospital

Having seen my family dentist with my 8 year old daughter and being treated in an appalling manor, my daughter being reduced to tears and myself walking away feeling like the worst mother in the world I decided to give St Thomas' a try. From the moment we stepped foot in the department we were treated with dignity and respect, the reception staff were great as was the trainee dentist who happened to be standing in reception. We were seen within 5 minutes of entering the department by a lovely dentist and the nurse who was working with them. Both members of staff made every effort at putting my daughter and myself at ease and explained everything they were doing and what they planned to do. My daughter also had x-rays and the staff in that area were great too. After being seen by a Consultant who was so reassuring and helpful a surgery date was given and the whole procedure was explained to myself. The staff in this department all work really hard and are lovely people, my daughter felt at ease the whole time she was there and is even strangely looking forward to returning for her surgery instead of being full of fear. I cannot recommend the service enough.

I was delighted to read your comments on Guy’s Dental Services. After your daughter’s previous experience, it must have been very difficult for you both to approach another dental service. I am glad to learn that you received such reassuring and helpful treatment at Guy’s and that your daughter is even looking forward to her next visit.
