"Had cancer of colon surgery at ..."

About: Wexham Park Hospital

(as the patient),

What I liked

Had cancer of colon surgery at Wexham Park Slough followed by participation in experimental AVASTIN chemo program. An excellent and careing team that has achieved a "life saving" result in my case, Follow up clinic the past aprox. 2yrs at Wexham and Windsor have been excellent as well as the care shown by my GP at the Holyport surgery. The NHS working "as it says on the tin"

What could be improved

Not a lot can be improved on the medical side as funding is "finite" whilst demands are "infinite" I have during my working life (now 83 )been a BUPA member and experienced the better "HOTEL" facilities afforded. And I paid for Private acomodation 5days in the Paragon Suite at Wexham after my excellent NHS treatment ,which was my choice not because that the NHS was lacking . Unfortunately I had a problem infection that neccesitated a stay of a similar length of time in Heatherwood Ascot in std. conditions which was just fine The food was good but lacked the "choice" of the Paragon which was not a cause for critisim as the Paragon costs £300 per day and would have been outside my "budget"
