"New iCASH clinic, Oak Street, Norwich"

About: Contraception and Sexual Health (ICaSH)

I telephoned the Norwich clinic using the central 0300 number provided, after working through a menu selection I was put through to appointments. The telephone rang and rang with a pre recorded voice interrupting frequently to say the call will be answered shortly. A further interruption by another, stern pre recorded voice telling me 'be patient' also cut into the unanswered call. After nine minutes I gave up. I decided to contact Cambridge iCASH to test the service. On navigating my way through the system, I selected Cambridge city, appointments. Again I held on while the line rang and rang eventually a pre recorded message informed me there was no one available to answer and the line went dead. I have tried Norwich iCASH twice since my initial call. A little more success this time, the call was answered by an answering machine. I left my contact details both time advising I would like to make an appointment. No one has returned the call yet. iCASH offer a wide range of services, what does one have to do to be able to access them as it would appear the central telephone number is the only access apart from pitching up at the premises! This is very frustrating and disappointing, especially for people who require urgent attention. This can only result with patients at A&E due to the inadequcies of those responsible for management of this service. Not particularly cost effective and puts additional strain on emergency service provision at acute hospitals.
