Some feedback and compliments. I had to have a surgery during September. The Day Surgery Unit is excellent, clean and bright. The nursing staff were absolutely wonderful - lots of patients to check in, busy all day but never leaving the phones to ring at the desk and attentive in every way. At the end of the day (I was nearly the last person to leave) they were still up-tempo and very pleasant and helpful. Particularly a nurse who's name I have forgotton - really lovely nurse.

Being there all day, I noticed the board system they ran, to ensure they could tell what stage a patient was at. Thus they did not forget to do an ECG which my anaesthetist had requested, despite their busy day. The nurses were constantly checking with wards and each other what should happen to patients after their surgery - excellently communicating.

My follow-up on Ward 3 dressing has been just as excellent, with the nurse there spotting a problem and calling a doctor. Even the next day I was called back as my consultant felt a further procedure was needed to the wound.

My follow-up appointment was promised for four weeks after surgery and I already have a confirmation letter.

I have been in Wexham on 5 previous occasions for surgery (hopefully no more though) and have experienced the good and not so good. This has been an extremely pleasant experience with a brilliant team, both on the two Wards and the Plastic Surgery.

What could be improved

Checking i I was thirsty during my hours of sleep after surgery.

It was a very pleasant experience despite my worries about having surgery.
