I gave birth here in November 2011, I was booked in for induction as 11 days overdue but on the way to hospital my waters broke. Midwife decided to check me and the other part of my waters went which had mecounim so I was kept in, I explained everything although I did have to wait for a bed in delivery suite as I was labouring fast but overall my care from start to finish was amazing. I had my little girl here in August 2014, 12 days overdue and booked in for an induction, on arriving I was explained the process, monitored and they were able to break my waters, I went into labour thick and fast again and within 30 mins needed gas and air from waters breaking, one midwife was a bit hesitant but I explained my first labour was under 5 hours and sure enough I needed it urgently, my daughter was born 2 hours after waters breaking, 3 hours after arriving at hospital. Both times I had different midwives and they were all amazing and supportive, I only had time for gas and air in both labours and although I did feel I needed more the midwives were encouraging. I have low platelets so I was checked on after birth with a full blood count but luckily all was fine, I was kept overnight for observations with my son in 2011 due to passing on mecounim and he was monitored 3 hourly for 24 hours and I was looked after myself in 2014 due to low plalets, I wasn't rushed. Only thing I'd say is now they let partners stay, i think the ward should be separate as I was next to a couple that were cooing and chatting all night which is lovely but kept me awake a lot and I made the mistake of staying up all night with my first and was so exhausted and just wanted to sleep.
"I would recommend"
