I would like to register my thanks and admiration for the wonderful staff working in A&E at Darent Valley Hospital on the afternoon and evening of Easter Monday 6th April 2015. My 87 year old Father was admitted with acute dehydration and a chest infection by ambulance. The ambulance crew were extremely professional and caring and made a point of making notes to record my Dad as the sole carer for my Mum who has dementia. The A&E area was immaculately clean and the medical staff were caring and attentive. I am sure there must lots of politics at play in all parts of the HHS but I was struck by the genuine caring and humanitarian attitude of all staff we dealt with. The discharge nursing sister deserves special thanks for putting together a comprehensive home care plan together with a member of staff in hospital social services. This was all done with patience and good humour on a busy bank holiday despite my Dad's endless moaning and complaining. All staff were all brilliant and their care and attention was very much appreciated by our family.
