I went to 'The Whittington Hospital' to A&E to have my foot checked out as I had injured it in some way. The waiting time for when I went was pretty good considering the hours I went to get my foot checked out. The staff, especially the nurse taking care of me, was friendly and caring. However, they did the x-ray and because they weren't specialists they couldn't tell me whether I had fractured my foot. Instead, they took the precautionary measure of putting my left foot in a cast and subsequently in crutches. Walking in crutches is hell. They said they'd call back on Monday, but it's now 10:43pm as I write this and they've yet to call back. I've called them twice and the person on the other end has not at all been able to resolve my issue over the phone because they cannot verify who I am and have stated that I should contact my GP if I want to know the results of my x-ray from the radiologist. Why even say they'll call back if they don't intend to? I get that things can get busy in hospitals, but why is it that my GP are only allowed to contact them over the phone and ask for the results? Surely, in 2015, they have a system that allows them to verify a patient over the phone inquiring about a recent visit to the hospital? I don't get it at all. I'm thinking of just taking this cast off as this is a complete waste of my time and I feel almost betrayed. If you say you're going to call me, then very well call me on the day you said you would - otherwise send me an e-mail, text, or something confirming my injury or lack of injury.
