"I was given a private room to ..."

About: Milton Keynes Hospital

(as the patient),

What I liked

I was given a private room to breastfeed

What could be improved

the list is endless- 1. ambulance crew were unsure about if they could take my 9 month old with me. 2. 11 hour wait to see a doctor after arriving at a&e via ambulance. 3. doctor didnt know she could opperate an internal scan. 4. line inserted into my arm but never used. 48 hours without food or water whilst breast feeding despite having a line on admission to the sau. 5. Told to wait in my room by nurses at nurses station when i told them about a rupture. 6. made to walk to scan after rupturing. 7. due to dehydration they could not get blood prior to opperation so went ahead without a sample. 8. did not talk to me about the operation or check me for the general working. 9. did not shave the pubic area before surgery and applied menoline plasters to the area. 10. didnt change my dressings for the remainder of my stay. 11. forgot to discharge me with a change of bandages. 12. did not check for alergic reaction to menolin bandages. 13. gave 3 different explanations of what the surgon had done. This ranged from removing my womb to a simple patch up.

Anything else?

Every visit to this hospital for the 3 pregnancies I had has had some complication involving either staff or equiptment. my first labour they didnt realise the tube for gas and air was blocked, second was the horrific ectopic, third - the placenta was not checked and i lost 3 litres of blood, and the fourth time I didnt bother going to hospital with a miscarrage cos they were so awful with my treatment before. I think it's fair to say that every trip I have ever had to either the doctors or the hospital in milton keynes has ended in serious complications. It would have been unfair to judge on one visit however if every visit is awful then it makes u want to move area- which i have i now live in kent! Even the experience with my daughter let me feel like geriatics were operating in the hospital - who in their right mind removes a scab from a child's cut to see if it healed?

In all I think Milton Keynes is the worse hospital I have ever visited for customer care relations and general practice.
