Entered A&E this evening at 7:30 after calling 111 and having a nurse call back to say go to A&E straight away, at 9:30 at least 10 patience had come and gone and we were still sat there with our 7 month old. The nurse who had done the triage spotted us and realised that we had indeed been forgotten about! In this day and age with all the technology available and they rely on someone printing notes to be put in a doctors tray so that kids can been seen by the doctors?! The triage nurse was lovely and couldn't apologise enough called us straight into a room to be seen. However when they went out to see who was available the doctor on duty said it was a 2 and a half hour wait anyway so it was reasonable for us to have not been seen yet. Well I disagree when children have come and gone only being given ibuprofen or nappy cream and my 7 month old still sat there with the symptoms of a twisted bowel the attitude of the lady doctor in my opinion was unforgivable! We were worried and tired having sat in a busy extremely hot waiting room for that long to see the doctor.
