About: Palmer Community Hospital

I recently had an appointment at this hospitals out-patients and was very anxious about what was going to happen to me when you hear so many horror stories about nhs. However, I was delighted to find that I was greeted warmly by a nurse who was polite and friendly, and allayed my fears quickly explaining what was going to happen. I was surprised when the nurse mentioned that they had not long worked there, as the nurse was very knowledgable and completely put me at ease reassuring me and giving me lots of time to talk which is exactly what I needed. The hospital itself looks in need of repair and there is the issues of very limited parking spaces but the friendly caring staff more than make up for this.

I fully understand that any visit to a hospital as a patient can increase anxieties and stress levels. I am delighted the nurse concerned was able to make you feel at ease and provided you with the necessary information as to what to expect during your appointment. Regarding your comment about the physical condition of the OPD at Palmer Community Hospital, we have recently approved a business case for the refurbishment of this area and I would hope to see some improvements in the forthcoming months.
