About: Altrincham General Hospital

This morning I attended the warfarin clinic with my elderley mother at Altrincham Hospital. Her appointment was 9.30. We have previously been told that from 30 March all patients would be seen at their appointment time and not on a ' first come first served' basis. We were on time but we're not seen till 10.05. There is a sign on the waiting room wall saying that patients need to attend at their appointment times. When I asked the receptionist about this they said that they were not seeing patients by their appointment times only on their arrival times. Because of this I missed an appointment at a chiropodist which I could have gone to if appointment times were being used as it states on the wall. When the new hospital opens will this still apply? Or are patients being seen on their appointment times?

Thank you for your feedback. Firstly we would like to apologise for the delay in responding to your posting and for any inconvenience the delay may have caused.

We were sorry to read of your poor experience of the Altrincham Hospital Warfarin clinic. In response to your comments we can tell you that the new hospital opened in April 2015 and we are seeing anticoagulant patients in the clinic by appointment time. We apologise for the confusion caused by the information provided by the receptionist at the time of your attendance. At the time of your visit anticoagulant patients being seen on appointment time was a new development within the service and the receptionist may have not been fully aware of the new process. We would like to reassure you that this process is now embedded at the new Altrincham Hospital and all members of staff are aware.
