"Told off for being injured"

About: East Riding Community Hospital

I attended the minor injuries unit in Beverley with a swollen and bruised finger which had been initially injured several weeks before but had not healed and was still very painful. I was seen quickly, however the nurse was very unfriendly and effectively accused me of wasting their time as I had not come in straight after the injury, there was nothing they could do and it was 4.30pm and the unit shut at 5 (I had had to leave work early to get there before it shut and there was only 1 other person in the waiting room). Having had similar bad experiences with nurses at the previous minor injuries unit in Beverley (I have previously been told off for using crutches, which had been given to me by A&E at Hull Royal Infirmary for an ankle injury which made it very difficult to walk) I am very unimpressed with the attitude of the staff.
