"Went for an X-ray on a damaged ..."

About: Royal Hampshire County Hospital

(as the patient),

Anything else?

Went for an X-ray on a damaged finger at short notice at the end of working hours - 5PM! Taken in by a nurse at the request of the doctor I had seen. The radiographer (name noted) was extraordinarily rude to the nurse and left her in tears. He was a large young man. She was a middle aged small woman.

At best this could be described as bullying but really verged on assault!

If this is the culture of the hospital it is a very sick place with a real lack of any management control.

I would have sent this to the CEO directly but have been unable to find his name or any address other than webmaster@... A sure sign of a weak style of management that does not want to be confronted with its own shortcomings.

Winchester and Eastleigh Healthcare NHS Trust is very happy to investigate any complaints raised by patients, visitors and members of staff and we pride ourselves on our openness. We have not received any internal complaints of the nature described above and we are unable to investigate this matter without any factual information.

We would like to ask Peter to contact our Complaints Team via PALS@wehct.nhs.uk and provide more information, in total confidence, to enable us to look into this complaint.

The ‘Ask Martin’ link on the homepage of the Trust website www.wehct.nhs.uk provides a means of sending emails to Martin Wakeley, our chief executive. The website also provides much useful information about the Trust and the range of services we provide.
