"Car Parking"

About: South Tyneside District Hospital

I recently offered to take my new in laws to attend an appointment at South Tyneside Hospital, as that was not there normal hospital they attended but on this occasion the speciality they needed to see was the Breast Care, based in your Outpatients department. As I knew exactly how to get to the hospital I offered to take them. I was fortunate to have got a disabled parking space using my mother in laws blue badge which gave her very little walking due to her poor mobility. However I do think you should make visiting patients to the hospital aware of the ParkingEye system used within the Trust saving them the distress of getting a fine and having to go through the appeal process.

Thank you for posting your comments on the NHS Choices website regarding car parking at South Tyneside District Hospital. Since introducing Parking Eye to the hospital, we continually review the signage, parking allocation and information provided to patients and visitors. To this end, we are currently awaiting delvery of printed letters which will enable details on the back of every appointment letter as to how Parking Eye operates . Thank you for your constructive comments. Kind regards Lorraine B Lambert Chief Executive
