"Truely excellent care at Royal London"

About: The Royal London Hospital

(as the patient),

At the beginning of May 2007 I attended the Royal London Hospital "Endoscopy Unit" for a liver biopsy. The doctor who carried out this procedure really made me feel calm and relaxed. I thought I would feel very anxious and nervous but through his kind approach towards me I felt at ease. The procedure went very well and I hardly felt a thing apart from a slight discomfort for 1-2 seconds. The aftercare (I had to spend 6 hours in the dept as a day patient) was truly excellent. Although, I did have a team of specialist nurses that I already know through my previous liver treatment. I would say to anybody having a liver biopsy, it isn't as bad as you may anticipate and takes a few seconds for the actual biopsy needle to go in and out. Don't worry, be brave, the doctor knows what he is doing and you will be well cared for.
