I was given a referral to the X ray department and advised to go prior to my next appointment. Due to work commitments I was unable to go the x ray department until after 6:30. The manner in which I was spoken to was completely unacceptable. I was told in no uncertain terms that I may not be seen as it was out of "normal Working Hours" along with a number of other derogatory comments. Not only was I shocked by the response, and attitude, a number of other people in the waiting area were shocked. Then another member of staff came out and stated very harshly that "If it had been anyone else, I would have been sent away and told to return during normal working hours". Nobody wanted to answer the question of what were "Normal working hours" or listen to the fact that I had come straight from work. If I had given them the same attitude as I received I am pretty sure the hospital security would have referred to the zero tolerance policy. Absolutely unacceptable!
