"World Autism Awareness Week"

About: Kirkby Central & West Children's Centre Kirkby East Children's Centre

(as a staff member posting for a patient/service user),

All Staff and Volunteers at Kirkby East, Centra; and West Children's Centre raised money for Autism Awarness Week by turning up to work wearing a Onesie.

Families who attended the Children's Centre were also invited to wear their onesie during the sessions. They raised money by buying cakes from the cake Stall, having a go on the Tombola and also guessed how many chocolates were in the jar.

One parent donated a signed poster and football which is going to be auctioned off.

Both staff and families had lots of fun whilst raising awareness of Autism and together collected £137. 00.

Parents Commented ''This is a lovely idea. It raised awareness and people have fun whilst doing it''.

'' My children have really enjoyed it''.

The team did a great job and all looked fab and all families that attended clearly enjoyed the day very much. Such a worthwhile cause, many families we support live with Autism and to raise awareness about Autism is really important, not only for staff and other professionals but for other families also. Thanks to the Kikrby team for organising such a worthwhile event
