I was rushed into East surreys emergency department on the 13th March 2015 with extreme abdominal pains (It felt like I was dying). It turned out to be an emergency perforated ulcer.
From the moment I arrived I was fast tracked from x-ray to CT scan to a diagnosis.
I was advised of an impending operation by the most wonderful surgeon of whom his name escapes me. I would love to meet him again to thank him personally for his respect and care.
Within the same night I was wheeled down to theatre, prepped up for the anaesthetic, and before I knew it I was waking up in recovery, feeling most wonderful.
Seemingly teams of nurses and doctors were looking after us patients with the expected professionalism and dedication one would expect on a private ward.
I was then transferred to Copthorne ward and given the care required by an equally professional and considerate team of Consultants, nurses and other staff.
All in all I am proud and grateful to have been a patient at East Surrey Hospital and would recommend it to anyone. Don't knock the system.
"Professional and considerate care"
