"A&E"

About: North Middlesex Hospital

I visited the A&E dept on above day. It was filthy, clinical waste in the carpark, bins overflowing etc I asked there was a place I could sit separately as I have immunodeficiency, and as nice as the reception staff were, there was nowhere to sit. I asked if I could wait outside to reduce an HAI, I was told not possible. I left. I needed bloods and an Xray as serious chest infection-I thought I would be safer elsewhere.

Thanks for your feedback and apologies for the state of cleanliness on the occasion you visited. We always aim to keep A&E and the surrounding area clean at all times. I've passed on your comments to our cleaning team. Re the space, we have recently redesigned our rapid assessment area so it has more seats which will be better for everyone. I am the A&E service manager, gcarter-sandy@nhs.net please contact me if you would like to discuss further.
