"I was an emergency admission. ..."

About: Musgrove Park Hospital (Taunton)

(as the patient),

What I liked

I was an emergency admission. My first time in hospital but had nothing to worry about. I was treated almost immediately with great kindness. My stay on the whole was without problems. The staff were excellent and seemed a very happy bunch. I was amazed at the size of the hospital but would have no worries if I had to stay again.

What could be improved

Communication. I had no idea how long I would have to stay and arrived with no change of clothing etc and as I didn't know how long the stay would be, I could have arranged for someone to bring a change of clothing etc.As it was I was there for nearly 4 days never knowing when I would be able to go home expecting each day to be the discharge day and I couldn't see any particular reason why discharge should take so long especially if you have someone waiting in the car park.

Anything else?

I did think that the food was pretty abysmal. Improvements would make the stay a little more manageable.!
