"AE give fantastic care, but ESAU not great."

About: The Royal Liverpool University Hospital

I attended AE on 23rd December, with received from the overworked and understaffed team was exceptional. Nurses, registrar, porters, and domestics were all superb. The only place this excellence few down was when I was transferred to ESAU. The nurse on nights ignored my pain for several hours, and as I did not want to be a nuisance, I sobbed all night due to my pain. The staff on ESAU on Christmas Eve day shift were however, very good indeed. If my relative was ill, I would drive past all other local hospitals, to the Royal, where the AE care is superior.

Thank you for your kind comments about our Emergency Department and ESAU staff. We are pleased that you had a good experience and will pass on your comments to our staff. We are however sorry that you did not have a good experience during the night in ESAU.
