"Reassuring and caring staff"

About: Wansbeck Hospital

I arrived at Wansbeck last September after my waters had broken with my third baby. As with my second child, my labour was progressing extremely quickly and by the time I arrived I was ready to push. In my panic I had forgotten to call the ward ahead of my arrival as you are supposed to do to check bed avail etc. but the staff made no issue with this and were very understanding. Having had two previous deliveries I was shocked to discover during delivery that my baby was breech and i panicked. The midwife however, was amazing. They reassured me every step of the way, made sure I was looked after and most importantly they made sure my daughter was delivered safely. I couldn't believe it when they told me after that it was their first breech delivery as they had been truly professional. The follow up staff were equally as helpful and I can't thank them enough, especially the midwife.

Dear Lisa, Many many congratulations on the safe arrival of baby no 3 . I hope you have been enjoying the very welcome addition to your family and that life at home has now settled down into a comfortable routine that works for you. Thank you for this lovely feedback for the Wansbeck team - it s the fourth one of its kind that I have answered in the last couple of days ....our staff will be delighted to hear about all they are doing right. I imagine the sudden discovery that your baby was in a breech position was a little scary at the time - I am so pleased that our staff were to hand to give you all the support you needed. If you would like me to share a special note of thanks to the midwife - just forward your details to me privately via Annie.laverty@nhct.nhs.uk and I will be sure to pass your gratitude on. With all best wishes to you and your lovely brood, Annie
