"very poor appointments"

About: Bradford Royal Infirmary

saw my gp in sept 2014 reffered to bri under chose and book. what a joke, was under impresion you had a choice of hospitals, but no, only bri rang chose and book they couldnt give me appointment they passed details on to bri. got a letter in march 2015 to attened on april 13th 2015. someone rang on 23 of march to say they had to cancell app and could i ring consultants sec to arrange another app. well every time i rang its going to voice mail so give up as a bad job ive tried the pals dept and they as much use as a choc teapot. no doubt bri will reply to this by saying you need to get in touch with pals so whats the point? at the end of the day bri is a seconed rate hospital run by 3ard rate pepole. its taken a stagering 7 month to get an app and keeps geting canceled and you have to ring every tom dick and harry to sort it out. so now have to go back to gp to get another app if its bri and only bri on the chose and book joke list i suffer in silence what a joke bri is.

Hello, I am so sorry that you did not get a response from us at the time, this was because of a technical issue with the website, which means some reviews were not coming through to us. I imagine that did not help how you felt after the experience you have described.

I am sorry that was so difficult for you, and I do hope it all got resolved in the end. If not please do go back and speak to your GP.

We would not want you to put off what might be essential tests or treatment because of your previous experience. Choose and Book has now been replaced with a different system but it is worth bearing in mind that not all hospitals in an area offer all services, so that can affect the choice available to you. But if you do want to be referred to another hospital, that is your right under the NHS Constitution, but it may not be so local. Please talk to your GP about this if you need to attend hospital again.

However, we are concerned to hear about the problems you experienced in trying to arrange your appointment and the time you had to wait.

We have made a number of changes to our administrative systems in the last 2 years and are continuing to work on improving this, which should have improved access to the teams setting up appointments for patients. Feedback like yours has been a factor in that work being done, so please be assured that we do listen and are working hard to make improvements.
