What I liked
I have been receiving treatment for prostate cancer which has involved out both out and inpatient visits. This week I had Brachytherapy and stayed for a 2 days.
The staff are excellent, the care was at all times exceptional. The wards/rooms are very clean and tidy, food was good with a wide range of choices available.
What could be improved
The nursing staff are run off their feet as there appears to be a staffing shortage, how they keep so cheerful with the incredible work load and long hours is amazing.
Anything else?
I think you get back what you put in, those that complain about the NHS quite often create their own problems.
Being late/not arriving for appointments, being rude to staff will not help anyone.
Even in the cancer centre and radiography dept. they have people refusing treatment/scanning dates because they ,quote "have to play golf that day" " I have to go shopping with my sister, you will have to give me a better date"
Odd priorities for people with life threatening illnesses.
"I have been receiving treatment ..."
