"Well done ward 28"

About: Royal Alexandra Hospital / Urology (Ward 28)

(as a friend),

My dear friend recently spent over a week at the RAH and was discharged today.

As this was sooner than we expected we were unprepared for contacting the correct services and resources for the much needed support at home, as this is a vital part of patient aftercare and recovery.

How wonderful that nurse Elizabeth from Ward 28 was there to advise and help when needed most, providing a faultless professional nursing service that continued with a follow up telephone call regarding the process of setting up after care that not only reassured us but provided my friend with the confidence to continue his recovery knowing that the NHS truly does care.

Well done Nurse Elizabeth and well done to all the team working on ward 28, we thank you sincerely. So often feedback can be critical and negative and people rarely give praise when it truly should be given.

Kind Regards.

I work in a small team in NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde which seeks to involve patients and carers in the work of the NHS. The biggest part of my role is in managing feedback projects across the Board area, one of which is Patient Opinion. It is my job to give our patients and carers the opportunity to give us feedback, and to make sure that this is passed to the right people to help us improve the services we provide.

Dear Fromtheshire

Your wonderful posting highlights for me the importance of the human touch - both in the thoughtfulness and diligence of Nurse Elizabeth, but also in the very kind words and thoughts contained in your posting.

Our staff really do care about their work and every patient they treat is important to them. Hearing your praise will make their day. So thank you, Fromtheshire, for taking the time to post on Patient Opinion.

Yours sincerely,
