I just wanted to make sure I wrote a review. My daughter was admitted on Sunday for possible appendicitis. She went onto e5 children's ward. From us arriving at a&e (childrens) to leaving tonight we have been so impressed by all staff and the overall service & care afforded to our little girl. She was cared for so well by a & e staff and staff on the children's ward. She was admitted later on Sunday evening after presenting with severe pain, bloods were taken which evidenced infection, we went to e5 and staff were kind, welcoming and ensured we were comfortable straight away. My bed was prepared next to my daughter. Monday morning the surgeon came to see her and she was booked in for her appendix out. She was put on emergency list. The surgeon was fantastic. Play/medical workers came and talked with my daugter with colourful books and photos explaining her operation. The anaesthetist came to see her and explained what would happen so well, they were lovely. Staff made her laugh in theatre when they were putting her to sleep, then other staff comforted me when I had a wobble/panic and cried. they came and got me immediately when she was in recovery. All staff on the ward presented as caring, organised and approachable. Had some lovely chats with staff and they ensured Gabrielle was comfortable at all times. I can't thank you all enough, my daughter wanted to stay in because it was fun there with the play worker and the nurses and things to do!! I couldn't believe it. We came home this evening feeling confident and with a happy and very precious daugter with us. What a fab team of staff on children's ward! Proud to utilise our fantastic NHS. Bless you all. The Hope Family.
