I was most impressed by the treatment I received at the Breast Clinic. I was not unduly anxious, as my GP had referred me merely as a precaution, having examined me and found nothing untoward. However, if I had been worried, I am sure I would have been put at my ease by the kindness and quiet competence of all staff : the consultant, all nurses and technical and administrative staff. The consultant took time to explain everything, and I was never once made to feel that I was wasting anyone's time, although I could see what a busy schedule they had. I was also pleasantly surprised to be given a mammogram during the same appointment, and to get the results and explanation from the consultant themself after a short wait in the waiting room. I believe that had further investigation been needed, I would have had a biopsy, again during the same appointment. My husband also wishes to express his appreciation of the courtesy of the clerical staff on the reception desk in the general waiting room, where he came looking for me after what seemed to him to be a long time !
