From the minute I walked into day care until the moment I was discharged from the brilliant Mulberry Ward, I was treated with care, dignity, respect, kindness and with the brilliant humour I needed to help me get through a difficult operation. From the "humble" staff who made me a coffee or offered me jugs of water on the ward to the highest surgeons who operated on me I received nothing but respect and kindness. The ward was clean, the staff were all amazing and I was just treated fantastically. DVT has had a bad reputation in the past but I cannot, hand on heart, fault any of the care I received. I had elected to have this surgery for risk reduction reasons and was scared, nervous and worried but everyone did what they could to put my mind at ease. Every single department I encountered during my stay were fab and just lovely and caring.
