"The care and efficiency of all ..."

About: Salisbury District Hospital

(as the patient),

What I liked

The care and efficiency of all the nursing staff, both in A & E & CCU. Nothing was too much trouble & they managed to give time and attention even when very busy.

The wards and corridors were spotlessly clean and uncluttered - as pleasant an environment as is possible in a hospital setting!

What could be improved

The food - the quality was OK, but such a high level of waste. What isthe point of ordering food each day if trolleys arrive with many extra portions of food which is then thrown away!

Anything else?

The majority of the doctors were also helpful and took the trouble to explain things, but just one or two were offhand, and in one case abrupt and rude. When you don't know what is wrong with you& feel frightened & vulnerable you need reassrunce and clear explanation about your illness and the treatment prescribed.

Thank you for letting us know about your recent experiences of Salisbury District Hospital. We are pleased that you felt well cared for during your stay.

Food is an important and emotive part of a hospital stay. Please be assured that we do try to cater for everyone's needs (including patients who are admitted at short notice and cannot pre-order their meals), whilst minimising the amount of food which is wasted. We have reintroduced food trolleys in response to feedback from patients, and we will continue to listen to and act on any comments and ideas we receive.

We hope that you are continuing to recover from your recent illness.
