"Amazing staff in a crisis"

About: Alder Hey Hospital

My son was admitted via A&E with total blindness in one eye, and was seen by on call ophthalmic Registrar, who came from their on call at the Royal within an hour, had CT , which was reviewed, saw an ENT reg, and neurologist, within 4 hours, diagnosed with optic neuritis, and commenced IV steroids. Care was amazing, but we were treated as an emergency, and I feel,we had greater input due to rarity of his condition. However, as he recovered so well, we haven't had the follow up checks promised! Also, I'm glad we live down the road, parents room was grim.
