"excessive waiting time"

About: Southmead Hospital

No point in making appointment times, whenever we have been we have waited at least an hour up to 2 1/2 hours over appointment time. Today was an hour and nurses not very pleased when asked (although there is a notice if over 1/2 hour wait please ask!!!) Feedback should be automatically given if running late. Nurses too busy chatting to be bothered that folk are waiting so long to be seen. Car parking abissmal and should be pay for what time used rather than have to guesstimate how long you will be. Allow at least an hour before appointment to park and do a half hour hike to your department!!

Dear Anonymous - I am sorry that your experience of attending your appointments at Southmead Hospital has been so poor. It is certainly the case that all patients should be kept informed where clinics are running late and I apologise if this has not happened as it should. Please be aware that parking arrangements will greatly improve when the current phase of building work is completed in early summer. Please accept my apologies that your experience has fallen below the level we would expect for any of our patients. I have shared your comments with the teams concerned.
