"Appointment times"

About: Dorset County Hospital

My appointment @ Medical Outpatient Dept: yesterday with a Respiratory Consultant was for 4.30p.m I was eventually seen @ 6.40p.m. Appointments for patients were for 15min: intervals, but were taking 30-45mins, therefore obvious delay backup as day progressed. Due to tests at 2.00pm of 90 mins (which were dealt with in very good time) and the above we were in the hospital for 7&1/2 hours. Whilst my treatment was 1st class your appointment system is ridiculous and suggest you update them, there were a lot of very tired and cross people in your blue waiting room.

I am very grateful to you for leaving your feedback although I am extremely sorry to read how long your appointment took in total. I am pleased to read that the consultation was first class and I can only imagine how tired you and the other patients waiting must have been. Please be assured I will look into this with the team managing these clinics and ask them to review how they can make it a more timely service. Best wishes, Alison Tong, Director of Nursing, Dorset County Hospital
