"Problems with clinic appointments"

About: Royal Alexandra Hospital / Rheumatology

(as a relative),

My father attends the Rheumatology Department & has been told to attend for appointments on two occasions. Only to be told he doesn't have an appointment. Even though he has received appointment letters in the post.

He has had to travel twice now for a wasted journey. Not very good at all for someone who is in constant pain & doesn't like hospitals.

I work in a small team in NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde which seeks to involve patients and carers in the work of the NHS. The biggest part of my role is in managing feedback projects across the Board area, one of which is Patient Opinion. It is my job to give our patients and carers the opportunity to give us feedback, and to make sure that this is passed to the right people to help us improve the services we provide.

Dear Kazza26,

I'm really sorry that your father has had these wasted trips, which is frustrating for anyone but particularly so when in pain. I have already spoken to Jacqueline Nicol, the General Manager for this service about your comments and it would be of real help to allow her to look into this if you could provide me with some more details.

I would appreciate if you could get in touch with me directly on lorna.gray@ggc.scot.nhs.uk and look forward to hearing from you.

Kind Regards,

Lorna
