"I was treated as an outpatient ..."

About: Cheltenham General Hospital

(as the patient),

What could be improved

I was treated as an outpatient in the early pregnancy unit for a miscarriage. I found the sonographer extremely rude and incompassionate. I appreciate that they may have to deliver bad news on a daily basis but there is a way to deliver such news in a compassionate and sympathetic way. There seemed to be no communication between the sonographer & doctor on duty, I had to explain what was found on my scan. The doctor did not inform me about what I was likely to go through over the coming few days so I was completely unprepared. Not impressed at all with the standard of care and left feeling very nervous about the care I may receive when I have a successful pregnancy.
