"Shocked"

About: Leighton Hospital

I took my daughter to a and e and we both look the same apart from she is a bit taller I got to the first desk as you walk in started to give my daughters details and got told to "shut up let her speak she hasn't lost her voise has she" so I let my daughter do the rest of the talking but she is quite shy. Then the member of staff at the desk realised that I was her mum, only because my daughter said mum to me, so then the member of staff at the desk said I thought you were her sister, that's why I told you to shut up. But then they said I would have told you to shut up anyway, trying to make a laugh and a joke about it, but I thought you should not speak to people in that way no matter what relation you are to that person. Then we finally got through to see the triage nurse who then sent for a treatment nurse to look at my daughters foot because she tore the tendons in her foot last week and is in lots of pain, but the nurse never really looked at it and told her to keep taking pain killers and get on with it. I was just shocked at the whole experiance of my visit to this hospital, very rude.
