After nearly a year of excellent care by one doctor as both an in and out patient and following a lung biopsy at the Royal Brompton hospital, my wife was advised by this doctor that the diagnosis showed that she had pulmonary fibrosis. Note: 50% of patients will die within 3-5 years of being diagnosed. This news unfortunately coincided with the doctor moving on and My wife's care was temporarily passed to another doctor who subsequently explained a course of medication and tests to be trialled which had been organized by the previous doctor the idea being to find the best course of action to try and manage the condition. My wife's care was then passed to another doctor. This was two months ago and for the last month my wife, myself and even our GP have attempted to contact this doctor but despite promises by their secretary we have not received a single return call. Everybody has busy times and might need chasing a couple of times but at least half a dozen times over a month without the decency of returning a call is absolutely disgusting especially when you take into account my wife's treatment is now a month behind when time is now so precious. Under the circumstances I hope Colchester Respiratory Department will arrange for a swift referral to Papworth Hospital.
"Unbeleivable lack of care by the Respiratory Dept"
