My experiences in the last 3 years, my only experiences in 83 years, have been an operation on my Pituitary Gland in January 2013 by Mr Sinha a neurosurgeon at Sheffield hospital. A most marvellous man in every sense of the word, and being in intensive care it was of course care of a very high standard.
Now, during March 2015 I have had one week in Lincoln Hospital. Whoever put them under “Special Measures” needs to think again, and as my observations will show that I “Measure them as Special”.
From my arrival in A&E the care I received could not be faulted and in Clayton Ward the nurses, male, female and student trainees were all most caring and very professional in carrying out their duties.
Likewise the meals from a quite extensive menu were of a very high quality, excellently prepared, cooked and served. No less in excellence were the cleaners, they put their heart and soul into their work and it is done with vigour. Every surface is cleaned, dusted and or polished, including the overhead rails which hold up the curtains, and if a patient moves out during the day the whole bed-space is re-cleaned. Surely those are the things that really matter.
By the way this is not a one-off, as my wife was recently a patient and she is full of praise regarding her treatment at that time, and fully agrees with everything in this report.
