"I hope we never lose this service"

About: South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust / Emergency ambulance

(as a relative),

My husband is diabetic and he fell in the house when he had a hypo. I called 999 as I didn’t know what else to do. 3 medics came and gave excellent care, they gave him a thorough check and made sure he was completely OK before they left. They also made sure I was OK.

Unfortunately my husband had a further hypo in the early hours of the following day, he fell in the bathroom and I had to call the ambulance. The gentlemen were lovely, reassuring me again and again that I was quite right to call them and not to worry. They stayed with us until my husband had fully recovered – they were so kind, caring and attentive. I hope we never lose this service.

Hi Jazz554

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. I hope your husband is recovering well.

It is always rewarding to hear that our staff are continuing to provide excellent care to our patients when they need us most.

We would like to pass your kind comments onto the ambulance crew who came out to care for your husband. May I ask you to contact my colleague Mike Smale via either plaudits@swast.nhs.uk or 01392 453831 at your convenience and he can take some information from you to help us identify the staff involved and ensure they are recognised for the care they gave.

Thank you again for providing feedback on our service.

Sara
