Had an endoscopy today. Everything had been explained in the letter that came with the appointment details and due to sensitivity to sedatives I had already decided to have the throat spray. The Consultant reinforced my decision and nurse held my head and talked me through the procedure as it was carried out. It wasn't pleasant but there was no pain and it was over quickly. The results were explained and both the Consultant and the nurse made sure that I understood them. After a short rest and a drink of water I was able to go home and there were no after effects. I was impressed with the care I received and the efficiency of the department. Thank you NHS.
