"Superb Student Trainee Presence"

Following a very painful routine cervical screening at my GP practice, I was feeling somewhat anxious regards attending a referral for a further examination. When I arrived I was asked if I would be happy for a student trainee to be present, which I agreed too and I'm so pleased I agreed to their attending because the student took my histology with such kindness and interest placing me totally at ease discussing any worries or concerns I had prior to the Consultant. Unfortunately, I still suffered a lot of discomfort during the speculum insertion but to be honest I think it's the new plastic speculum I find so uncomfortable, because I've never had that kind of discomfort during previous tests from the steel speculum. Anyway, I just wanted to say thank you for being so kind and I think this student will become a superb empathetic Doctor in the near future.
