"Poor treatment by the medical registrar"

About: Northampton General Hospital (Acute)

On Sunday March 8th 2015 I started feeling unwell and as a type 11 diabetic I checked my blood and got a reading of 27.5mmols went to bed and woke up after an hour feeling worse, On rechecking my blood I got a Hi! reading (higher than 33mmol) .I contacted the 111 service end went to Cliftonville were ,I was seen by a very efficient nurse who after talking with a doctor issued me with a prescription and instructions to go to the late chemist and start taking Glicazide asap. Later I was feeling worse so I re-contacted the service and invited by the doctor to go back to Cliftonville., As I arrived the doctor I had seen was finishing their shift and I waited approximately 2 see hours to another doctor. She felt it was necessary for me to proceed to A&E and phoned the registrar to arrange for me to be seen. During the conversation, which I could hear as we were on speaker phone, the registrar stated that as they were busy in might be better if this doctor dealt with me! but they insisted that was not possible and the registrar stated " OK but he won't be seen until tomorrow and put the p[hone down. On arrival at A&E I was met and seen by the very efficient nursing staff who admitted me and after about two hours wheeled me into a small room attached to A&E, I then saw no one until about 03:15 when a nurse wheeled in a bed ( I had been on a trolley up to this point) and said that I would be going up to the ward "still no doctor" After being admitted to Benham ward I lay still in my street clothes until doctors rounds approximately 11:00 some twelve hours after presenting myself to the hospital. My blood reading all this time never dropped below 30mml. Unfortunately I was never given the name of the registrar and was too ill to ask The latest is my blood readings are still floating between 18.0mml and 28mml and I feel that this is not to the normal standards when admitted to NGH, If you check my hospital records you will find that I unfortunately have over the last thirty years been a regular patron of the cardiac department and hav prior to this last visit received exceptional care..
