"Fighting a losing battle with the QE"

About: Queen Elizabeth Hospital (Gateshead)

In December, my GP advised I needed an urgent colonoscopy. Here we are end of March and I still have not had this. I have had various other pointless tests and suprise suprise, they now think they may need to do a colonoscopy! During all of this, I can barely walk with pains in my stomach (which looks 9 months pregnant!!!) , vommitting stomach bile and passing blood, no one is bothered though even though they do not know what is wrong with me! I have also lost over half a stone in 3 weeks! But as I am 'young fit and otherwise healthy' they aren't remotely interested! Even the CEO writes advising they are looking into this case, which has also been pushed to one side as I'm yet to hear back!

We're sorry to hear about your experience and what you describe certainly falls short of what we expect for all our patients. You can contact our PALS (Patient Advice and Liaison Service) on 0800 653 0667 or pals@ghnt.nhs.uk. They can collect some more details from you and look into what happened in your case on your behalf.
