"Enter with caution"

All three dementia wards are seriously understaffed at all times, you enter a unit and they have no idea where your relative is and have to go looking for them. Is that safe for someone who is very vulnerable. Peoples meals go cold as there are not enough staff to give all who need feeding assistance it....... patient and public safety is put at risk on a regular basis due to staffing shortages... on one unit alone there are 3/4 members of staff who always seem to be doing very little and vanish when assistance is required....no care is taken of patients personal effects.. laundry disappears from locked units and nothing is done...appointments made and relatives not informed, but there is no accountability from staff with regards who does this....entries appear in ward diaries unsigned and in mysterious hand writing.... they make case reviews and discharge meetings, keep you waiting over an hour and a half and then come and say oh so and so has left, meeting now canceled..The list is long and very varied, despite the hospital being aware and the trust, basic fundamental changes are not being implemented and the public and residents put at risk daily.... it is not a safe environment....one patient was given the wrong medication, a hca gave the relative a pot and said this is for ***** the relative gave it , the hca came running back oh thats not for ****. I know this for certain as I was the relative given it.
