"TK Replacement"

About: Blackpool Victoria Hospital

I underwent TKR on 14/03/2015 from entering the waiting room to having the operation I felt comfortable and at ease throughout. The nurse taking your details and writing up your notes was good and tried to keep you at ease knowing the nearer the operation became the more tense you became. The theatre nurse who collected you and took you to pre op anaesthesia and got you ready for surgery was nice and easy going also keeping you at ease I had the epidural and a sedative and the next I knew was being woken up n the recovery room I was then taken to ward 15a were the health care assistants, nurses, staff nurses and sister were first class. The physios then arrived on the scene and these were also fantastic and administered their exercise regime without compromise and left you in no doubt no pain no gain. So if you follow their plans you will be up and running (so to speak) asap. All in all I would recommend this hospital and staff if you intend treatment in the future.

Hi Jeff

Thank you for leaving feedback on here the treatment you received at Blackpool Victoria Hospital before, during and after your operation. The attitude and approach of our staff is critical to delivering quality care and I’m pleased they all made such an excellent impression on you at different stages of your treatment. All our staff actively drive the Chief Nurse’s vision of the 6 C’s (care, compassion, courage communication, commitment, competence) and it is always appreciated when this is recognised.

I will make sure your kind comments are passed onto the teams involved who will be delighted to hear that their professionalism and expert knowledge helped put you at ease and ensured your stay was at comfortable as possible, getting you up and about in no time. Many thanks again for commenting and best wishes on your continued recovery.
